Strata a.k.a. X331
Oregon's signature new-school aroma hop.
What it tastes like
Strata exploded out of Indie Hops in Oregon and immediately became the defining hop of Pacific Northwest hazy IPAs. Strawberry, passionfruit, dank cannabis, mango — Strata pulls heavy fruit and heavy dank in the same sip. Often paired with Citra or Mosaic.

Tasting Tip
Great Notion in Portland made their reputation partly on aggressive Strata use. Cellarmaker, Holy Mountain, and Block 15 also showcase it well.Beers showcasing Strata

History
Developed by Indie Hops with Oregon State University. Released commercially in 2018 and named in the same year. Strata was one of the first major hops to be commercialized through a private breeding program rather than the USDA.
Freshness Note
High-volatility — Strata is at its best within 30–45 days of packaging. The cannabis note is the first to fade.
